What you will do

• Define OpenAI’s policy and engagement strategy for cyber-focused testing and evaluation and own relationships with relevant U.S. government national security partners.
• Partner with technical leads in Safety Systems and Security to translate technical priorities into government engagements, aligning scope, access, information-sharing, timelines, governance, and findings communication.
• Coordinate across policy and technical teams so external commitments reflect sound technical judgment and evaluation findings feed into mitigations, preparedness decisions, and research/product priorities.

Requirements

• TS/SCI security clearance
• Experience leading cyber operations, cybersecurity research, adversarial testing, or cyber capability evaluation.
• Ability to operate effectively with constraints of sensitive government partnerships.
• Strong technical understanding of generative AI and the ability to translate between technical evidence, operational cyber concerns, and policy implications.
• Proven judgment to manage sensitive relationships and turn ambiguous findings into clear decisions and next steps.
