Security Engineer (AWS)

Location: Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City (relocation support provided). Hybrid work culture (3 days/week in office).

Salary: $195K – $265K + Equity

What you will do

• Own application and infrastructure security across the AWS environment, including threat-modeling and code reviews.
• Manage identity and access (IAM) for engineers and AI agents to ensure scoped, auditable production access.
• Establish security baselines and durable controls to make the secure path the default for the engineering org.
• Integrate security into shipping processes, partnering with the platform team on CI/CD and developer tooling.
• Secure the operation of AI coding agents against real systems.
• Collaborate with Adyen's security organization to implement scalable practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or security engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience securing cloud-native systems, preferably AWS.
• Depth in application security, IAM, vulnerability management, detection and response.
• Ability to solve security problems structurally rather than adding manual processes.
• Comfortable operating autonomously as the first dedicated security hire.
• Based in San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.
