Senior Software Engineer (Security)

Location: United States; hybrid or remote options are available from applicable locations. Participation in an on-call rotation may require immediate response outside normal working hours, including weekends.

Annual base compensation: $160,650–$217,350 for most US locations, with 5%–10% higher ranges in higher-cost US labor markets.

What you will do

• Conduct AWS security reviews and validate security best practices across the cloud environment.
• Recommend and implement security improvements with production support teams.
• Fix and maintain custom-built security tools and bots in partnership with the Lead Security Architect.
• Review application code in depth and work with developers to address security issues early.
• Help product teams implement secure-by-default designs.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain system availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product security, application security, or related software engineering roles.
• Experience with AWS services including GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Groups, CloudFront, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or TypeScript, along with testing practices and technical documentation.
• Expertise in security best practices and making risk assessments that prioritize company-wide benefits.
• Must have US work authorization; hirify.global participates in E-Verify.
