What you will do

• Define and drive the technical vision and architectural strategy for the desktop client application.
• Lead the design of a high-performance native application for Windows and macOS running on 20M+ endpoints.
• Collaborate with product, backend, and AI/ML teams to integrate the client experience with the broader AI platform.
• Architect a secure distribution lifecycle, including signing, packaging, installation, and auto-update mechanisms.
• Establish observability, crash reporting, and performance monitoring across the client stack.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical deep dives, and conduct design reviews to raise the technical bar.

Requirements

• 7+ years of desktop application engineering experience shipping native apps on Windows and macOS.
• Strong proficiency in Rust and/or C++.
• Deep knowledge of Windows and macOS OS APIs.
• Hands-on experience with the full application distribution lifecycle (code signing, packaging, deployment at scale).
• Expertise in performance profiling, memory management, and crash diagnostics.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Lausanne, Switzerland for a hybrid work model.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Tauri framework.
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript for UI development.
• Experience integrating clients with cloud backends via REST, WebSockets, or gRPC.
• Background in system-level programming, such as OS hooks and inter-process communication.
• Experience with endpoint telemetry or APM integration on the client side.
