Engineering Manager (MLOps)

What you will do

• Own the quarterly roadmap end-to-end, from planning and breaking down epics to driving commitments to completion on schedule.
• Lead team accountability through tight standups, retros, and direct performance management to prevent silent slippage.
• Coordinate with multiple product teams to keep delivery visible and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Foster people growth and retention through 1:1s, feedback, and maintaining a high performance bar.
• Provide technical guidance by reviewing code, running POCs, and weighing reliability, latency, and cost trade-offs.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing software or platform engineering teams with a track record of driving delivery.
• Hands-on technical background capable of writing code and engaging at the implementation level.
• Experience operating in regulated, multi-tenant SaaS environments with strict security and compliance constraints.
• Proficiency in MLOps tools: LLM gateways (LiteLLM), observability (Langfuse), and model providers (AWS Bedrock, Azure Foundry, Google Vertex AI).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes-native platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm), and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Lisbon, Portugal.
