What you will do

• Drive technical design and solve complex problems spanning service and system boundaries.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure Java-based microservices for the cloud platform.
• Build and optimize lean and robust REST APIs.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt, security issues, and architectural risks.
• Lead the debugging of complex cross-component production issues.
• Mentor engineers and establish high standards for code quality and design patterns.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or a comparable field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale applications.
• High proficiency in Java or Golang, with intermediate-level experience in the other.
• Experience with microservice design and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, containerization, and relational databases.
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid from Berlin or Konstanz, Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-driven software engineering.
• Familiarity with event-driven system design.
• Practical experience with Quarkus or Helm.
