Quality Assurance Engineer

Full-Time/Company: Brave

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. They build a privacy-first web browser that blocks ads and trackers by default, a private search engine, a browser-native crypto wallet, and an opt-in private ad network that rewards users.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure quality of Brave browser releases across features and platforms
- Design and execute manual and exploratory tests for browser and wallet components
- Triage, reproduce and report bugs working closely with engineers and privacy/security experts
- Coordinate testing efforts across teams and departments
- Contribute to release readiness and post-release validation

Requirements:

- 5+ years experience testing software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience with macOS, Windows and multiple Linux distributions
- Android and iOS testing experience
- Experience with Android Studio and Xcode
- Experience using packet monitoring tools (Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Wireshark)
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency wallets and ecosystem

Nice to have:

- Familiarity with latest AI trends and ecosystem
- Experience with git and other command-line tools
- Comfortable working in an open source setting and with GitHub
- A passion for protecting users’ privacy and security
- Proven record of getting things done
