Engineering Manager (Platform)

What you will do

• Own and drive the developer platform roadmap, identifying high-leverage problems and setting long-term strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers focused on CI/CD, build tooling, and observability.
• Engage directly with technical designs and complex problem-solving to ensure high-quality execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to align platform strategy with company-wide goals.
• Build and scale the Amsterdam engineering culture through hiring, onboarding, and team rituals.
• Maintain close alignment with global teams across different time zones.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on developer platforms or infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager owning technical roadmaps.
• Deep technical expertise in CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Kubernetes, and API patterns (GraphQL, gRPC).
• Proven track record of applying product instincts to internal developer tools.
• Experience managing distributed teams and communicating effectively across time zones.
• Must be able to work from the Amsterdam office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-driven DevX development and DORA metrics.
• Proficiency with AWS and Terraform.
• Prior experience managing engineers within the Netherlands or EU employment context.
