What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new spinal systems, implants, and instruments.
• Translate Voice of the Customer (VOC) input into detailed system, product, and interface requirements.
• Manage system interfaces between hardware and enabling technologies like navigation and robotics.
• Lead system-level testing and validation activities in lab-based cadaveric or mock OR environments.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, product hazards, and failure modes throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support surgical procedures in hospital settings to gain clinical insights and improve system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
• Experience in systems engineering methodologies within a medical device or FDA-regulated environment.
• Proficiency in requirements management, functional analysis, and verification/validation processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% for project labs and clinical support.

Nice to have

• Experience with spine, orthopaedic, or enabling technologies like navigation and robotics.
• Familiarity with mechanical design, CAD, and software/algorithm development practices.
• Experience planning and conducting user evaluations and usability studies.
