Senior Fullstack Engineer (Electron)

TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Electron): Designing and maintaining complex software systems including backend services and thick client desktop applications with an accent on secure communication and structured data processing. Location: Remote (Must be based in the US and have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance)

Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 a year

What you will do

• Design and implement end-to-end solutions across backend services, data processing, and thick client applications.
• Develop and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron.
• Architect secure and efficient communication between client applications and backend services.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to deliver high-performance desktop interfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team engineering standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in backend frameworks (Java, Python, Node.js, or C#/.NET) and frontend frameworks (React or Angular).
• Experience building thick client desktop applications, preferably with Electron.
• Strong skills in REST API design and managing structured data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Experience delivering software in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing Electron applications for performance, memory usage, and security.
• Familiarity with secure desktop deployments in restricted or air-gapped environments.
• Experience with geospatial visualization frameworks or advanced data visualization libraries.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and tooling, including Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience supporting government or highly regulated development programs.
