Observability Engineer

TL;DR

Observability Engineer (OpenTelemetry): Building and optimizing observability infrastructure for Logs, Metrics, Traces, Profiling, and RUM with an accent on scalable, high-availability telemetry data pipelines and storage. Focus on reducing developer cognitive load while ensuring telemetry performance, resilience, and seamless integration into the broader platform architecture.

What you will do

• Design and implement robust observability infrastructure with scalability, high availability, and performance for core telemetry platforms.
• Manage observability data pipelines and storage for reliable ingestion, processing, and querying of Logs, Metrics, and Traces using OpenTelemetry (OTEL), Fluentbit, and Victoria ecosystem.
• Build self-service capabilities so engineering teams and business units can perform autonomous analysis, detection, and investigation.
• Monitor and maintain reliability and performance of the internal observability stack, including Grafana and exporters.
• Integrate observability frameworks (audit, logging, monitoring) into the platform architecture.
• Participate in technical discussions, learn from senior engineers, and share knowledge to support continuous learning.

Requirements

• Practical experience or strong foundational understanding building, supporting, or maintaining observability tools and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with telemetry infrastructure tools such as OpenTelemetry, Fluentbit, Victoria Metrics/Logs, and Grafana.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) and willingness to deepen observability architecture knowledge.
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Golang or Python) to build tools, exporters, or automations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with interest in continuous improvement, infrastructure as code, and automation.
• Understanding of data security, compliance, and cost-efficiency for a reliable observability platform.
