Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and build full-stack features using Fastify microservices, React/MUI, and shared TypeScript packages in a pnpm monorepo.
• Develop event-driven pipelines using AWS SNS/SQS with idempotent consumers and batch processing.
• Design and evolve backend services for high-volume, distributed screening workloads.
• Integrate external identity, KYC, and payments platforms such as Senzing, Auth0, and Stripe.
• Own services end-to-end, including API design, MongoDB data modelling, and observability.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
• Experience designing and operating production backend services.
• Strong grasp of REST APIs, auth/authorisation, and MongoDB data modelling.
• Experience with event-driven/message-based systems (SNS/SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ).
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• AWS experience (EKS, Kubernetes, Helm, S3, SES, IAM).
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC providers like Auth0 or Keycloak.
• Experience in Fintech, KYC/AML, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with monorepo tooling (pnpm, TurboRepo) and GitHub Actions.
• Observability tooling experience (Prometheus, Sentry).
