TL;DR

Customer Support Engineer (Networking): Providing technical partnership and support for customers using NetBox and its product suite with an accent on network automation, installation, and configuration. Focus on diagnosing complex technical issues across Docker, Python, and SQL environments, and bridging customer needs with product engineering.

Location: Remote (Must be based on the US West Coast)

Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 + Equity + Bonus

What you will do

  • Act as the technical anchor for customers, participating in architecture reviews and strategic planning sessions.
  • Diagnose, reproduce, and resolve technical issues across installation, configuration, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Manage the full post-sale technical lifecycle, including onboarding and ongoing deployment health.
  • Bridge the gap between customer requirements and product capabilities by providing actionable feedback to Product and Engineering.
  • Develop runbooks and troubleshooting guides to reduce repeat escalations and improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of NetBox, DCIM, IPAM, and core networking concepts.
  • Proficiency with Docker (Compose), GitHub/GitLab, and the Linux command line/shell scripting.
  • Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and processing CSV and JSON data.
  • Ability to work with Python, pip, and REST APIs.
  • Location: Must be based on the US West Coast.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kubernetes management and troubleshooting (kubectl).
  • Knowledge of Django and building NetBox plugins/integrations.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Understanding of SSO flows (OIDC, OAuth, SAML) and async messaging (Kafka, MQTT, AMQP, AWS SNS).
  • Deep Linux performance and network troubleshooting skills.
