What you will do

• Design and implement scalable integration solutions using APIs, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Define and enforce integration standards, best practices, and reusable architectural patterns across engineering teams.
• Maintain core platform capabilities including API registries, integration templates, and shared libraries.
• Refactor point-to-point coupling and anti-patterns into standardized, decoupled solutions.
• Contribute to the rollout of a distributed event streaming platform using Kafka.
• Apply AI capabilities to optimize integration development, documentation, and governance.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience with Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Proven track record of building integrations using REST APIs, messaging systems, or microservices.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, orchestration vs. choreography, and API governance.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Madrid office (60% onsite).

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Camel, Spring Boot, or similar integration frameworks.
• Knowledge of API catalogs, service registries, and developer portals.
• Experience implementing observability (logging, metrics, tracing) for distributed systems.
• Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and enterprise architecture.
