TL;DR

Fluid Dynamics Engineer (CFD/Thermal): Perform steady-state and transient external aerodynamic and internal flow analyses using CFD and engineering methods with an accent on unsteady aerodynamic behavior (buffeting, separation, recirculation), buffet/aero-acoustic loads, and thermal-coupled loads that drive flight hardware design iterations. Focus on building and automating simulation and data-processing workflows and validating models through test campaign and flight instrumentation definition.

What you will do

  • Run steady-state and transient external aerodynamic and internal flow analyses across the full CFD workflow (meshing, solution, post-processing).
  • Develop methods to assess unsteady aerodynamic effects (buffeting, separation, recirculation) and deliver buffet and aero-acoustic loads for vibroacoustic, loads, and control analysis.
  • Analyze internal flow phenomena for launch vehicle loads (propellant management, propellant sloshing, thermal stratification) using CFD and engineering methods.
  • Support thermal coupled loads analysis, maintain thermal models, and contribute to thermal control system design.
  • Develop and improve tools and automation for simulation, data processing, and analysis workflows.
  • Contribute to defining test campaigns and flight instrumentation to validate and verify analysis models and requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in aerodynamics, fluid, or thermal analysis for aerospace or launch vehicles.
  • Experience with CFD and fluid/thermal simulation tools (e.g., StarCCM+, Simcenter, Thermal Desktop/ESATAN/Thermica).
  • Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for automating pre- and post-processing workflows.
  • Fluent English.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.
