What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Medication Authorization Specialists.
• Oversee end-to-end medical authorization workflows for provider-administered specialty medications.
• Monitor KPIs including turnaround time, approval rates, and customer SLA adherence.
• Partner with Product and Operations teams to automate manual processes and improve workflows.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex authorization cases and support appeals.
• Ensure timely submission of medical prior authorizations and supporting clinical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in medical benefit prior authorizations or specialty reimbursement.
• 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid medical benefit authorization processes.
• Experience supporting provider-administered specialty medications.
• Experience with infusion therapies, biologics, oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, or neurology.
• Must be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Nice to have

• Experience within specialty pharmacy, physician dispensing, or infusion centers.
• Knowledge of EMRs such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or OncoEMR.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent healthcare experience.
