Field Service Technician II (Electrical)

What you will do

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, and repair of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components including circuit breakers, bus bars, and control wiring.
• Analyze system failures to identify root causes and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineering, and external contractors to resolve field issues.
• Accurately document service activities, parts usage, and follow-up requirements.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Level I technicians.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in safely using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 75% to regional field offices and vendor sites.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, vocational training, or military experience in power distribution systems.
• 1–3 years of related electrical, mechanical, technical, or field service experience.
