Forward Deployed AI Strategy Lead (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to San Francisco, USA (Hybrid/Remote options available).

What you will do

• Lead high-priority customer workstreams from technical discovery through POC, deployment, and expansion.
• Translate messy customer requirements into crisp technical scopes for Applied Research and Engineering teams.
• Define success metrics, evaluation designs, and environment requirements for complex AI workflows.
• Collaborate with leadership to manage the full commercial lifecycle, including scoping, pricing, and procurement.
• Build the operating system for the company's applied AI motion, including playbooks, reference architectures, and case studies.
• Bring customer signal back into the product roadmap to prioritize research and infrastructure development.

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of AI systems, post-training, agents, and infrastructure.
• Proven experience in forward-deployed engineering, technical GTM, or AI product strategy.
• Ability to operate effectively with executives, researchers, and engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and commercial narratives.
• High agency and ability to execute in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
• Must be comfortable working in or relocating to San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with RL, SFT, evals, agents, or tool-use workflows (e.g., LangGraph, DSPy).
• Background in enterprise AI or frontier AI companies.
• Experience writing proposals, customer memos, or technical scopes.
• Founder or early-stage startup experience.
