Lead Machine Learning Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in the UK (Remote, London, or Cardiff) or be able to relocate.

Salary: £115,000 - £150,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and deployment of advanced real-time ML models, including neural network, graph-based, and sequence-based architectures.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers in a cross-functional agile squad.
• Identify and scope high-impact opportunities to tackle financial crime and fraud across the organization.
• Mentor other ML scientists and drive technical excellence and best practices within the discipline.
• Partner with the MLOps team to optimize the full ML model lifecycle and enable rapid iteration.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading the development and deployment of advanced ML models in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Hands-on experience shipping deep learning, graph-based, or sequence-based architectures to production.
• Extensive experience with production Python and a strong command of SQL.
• Must be based in the UK or eligible for visa sponsorship/relocation to the UK.
• Strong product mindset with a focus on measurable business impact and customer outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience working with financial crime in regulated financial institutions.
• Commercial experience writing critical production code and working with microservices.
