TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (AWS/Python): Building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for a global health and fitness platform with an accent on AWS Redshift administration and high-performance data flow. Location: Remote (Must be based in Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, or Romania)

What you will do
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools to ensure efficient data flow for analytics.
- Design and implement effective data models that support business reporting and downstream analytics.
- Collaborate with data analysts, product managers, and engineers to deliver solutions meeting business requirements.
- Develop data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring to ensure data consistency and reliability.
- Optimize pipeline performance, queries, and data storage to enhance speed and reliability.
- Contribute to robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI for automated testing and deployment of data workflows.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development building production-grade pipelines.
- 2-3+ years of experience with AWS services, with mandatory Redshift administration skills.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation and automation.
- Experience with dbt for data modeling and transformation.
- Strong understanding of streaming architectures and micro-batching for real-time data needs.
- Must be based in Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, or Romania.
Nice to have
- Experience with additional AWS services such as EMR, EKS, Athena, or EC2.
- Hands-on knowledge of alternative data warehouses like Snowflake.
- Experience with PySpark for big data processing.
- Familiarity with event data collection tools such as Snowplow or Rudderstack.
- Interest in customer data platforms (CDPs) and real-time data workflows.
