OEM Engineer (Siemens PLC)

Location: Hybrid; the role involves a client project in Dundalk and is based in the Dublin office, Ireland.

What you will do

• Design control systems for industrial automation equipment from concept stage.
• Collaborate with clients and project design teams to develop control system design specifications.
• Select and manage automation contractors throughout the project life cycle.
• Review system integrator and vendor design documentation and liaise with automation vendors.
• Attend control system hardware and software factory acceptance tests.
• Keep up to date with automation technology trends.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification in Electronics Systems, Mechatronics, Automation, Controls Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience in software development and industrial control system design.
• Experience designing PLC/DCS-based control systems, specifically Siemens PLC systems.
• Experience with software architectures and design, including S88, GAMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Knowledge of industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and ControlNet.
• Good understanding of panel drawings and P&IDs.
• Design or project experience mainly focused on the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with international clients, ability to meet strict deadlines, and ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Organised, adaptable, proactive, flexible, and able to work well with others.
