What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Python, Spring Boot, FastAPI, Postgres, and Kafka.
- Lead the architectural transition by strangling functionalities from a legacy monolith into a microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Operations, Sales) to build products that address remote talent market pain points.
- Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices including TDD, real continuous delivery, SRE culture, and API-first design.
- Mentor less senior engineers through high-quality code contributions, weekly learning sessions, and rigorous code reviews.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong professional experience with Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask) and Java (Spring Boot).
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and designing RESTful APIs.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and test-driven development (TDD).
- English: Professional working proficiency required.
