Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Metals (Medical Devices)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; on-site work required

Annual base salary: $125,000–$175,000

Develops neurovascular medical devices and related manufacturing processes and equipment.

What you will do

• Lead engineering, design, and development of new products, processes, equipment, and changes to existing devices.
• Develop, configure, troubleshoot, and support processing and test equipment, including automated systems, fixtures, and tooling.
• Lead multidisciplinary projects, provide technical support, and influence cross-functional teams.
• Document manufacturing and production development through lab notebooks, engineering protocols, and reports.
• Research and integrate new technologies, evaluate vendors, interpret test results, and identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Train engineers, technicians, and assemblers in new processes and methods while supporting quality and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of engineering-level experience, preferably in the medical device industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Detailed knowledge of GMP, Quality System Regulations, and clean-room environment practices.
• Knowledge of engineering and scientific principles, with high proficiency in computers and software applications.
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and support multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability and willingness to work on site in Alameda, California.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience in a supervisory position, including staff selection, management, training, and development.
