Location: Must be based in or able to work from St. John's or Toronto, Canada (Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office).

What you will do

• Design and implement Terraform infrastructure for AWS data access services including IAM, Lake Formation, and Glue.
• Build and maintain federated data catalog integrations and manage permissions at scale.
• Solve complex networking challenges using VPC Endpoints, PrivateLink, and Cloud WAN.
• Improve platform security posture through IAM design, Service Control Policies, and data perimeter controls.
• Develop automation to streamline access provisioning and enhance developer experience.
• Engage directly with AWS engineering teams to influence platform roadmaps and resolve technical escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software or platform engineering experience with a focus on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, including module development and state management.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, including roles, policies, and permission boundaries.
• Proficiency in Python or Java with experience building production services.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment in St. John's or Toronto.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Lake Formation and fine-grained data access controls.
• Familiarity with AWS Glue Data Catalog and federated catalog architectures.
• Knowledge of IAM Identity Center (AWS SSO) and identity federation.
• Experience with EMR Serverless, SageMaker, or large-scale data platforms.
