Operations Engineer (Gamedev)

What you will do

• Monitor global operational dashboards in Datadog to detect anomalies and triage production incidents.
• Investigate root causes using APM, logs, and metrics, routing tickets to the appropriate SRE or Engineering teams.
• Own lower-severity incidents end-to-end and support the TSO Lead during major incidents in the war room.
• Draft internal and external incident communications, including status page updates and Post-Incident Review (PIR) documents.
• Develop operational automation scripts in Python, Go, or Bash and maintain runbooks to improve system reliability.
• Conduct structured shift handoffs and publish periodic health reports for critical applications.

Requirements

• Must have previous experience working at a gaming company.
• 4+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or NOC in high-availability environments.
• Proficiency in Datadog or equivalent observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, New Relic).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• English: C1 level required for technical documentation and stakeholder communication.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
• Availability for 24x7 shift-based operations and rotating weekend on-call.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems debugging and tracing across microservices.
• Familiarity with database operations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Helm).
• JIRA Service Management administration or ITIL Foundation certification.
