Information Systems Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Information Systems Security Officer (Cybersecurity): Maintaining the cybersecurity authorization posture for Department of War mission environments with an accent on RMF activities and ATO package management. Focus on executing continuous monitoring, managing POA&Ms, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements via eMASS.

Location: Scott Air Force Base, IL. Must have an active Secret Clearance (TS preferred).

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and update System Security Plans (SSPs) and manage POA&M activities from identification to closure.
• Prepare, coordinate, and submit Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Execute continuous monitoring activities utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
• Coordinate with ISSEs, security operations, and system owners to validate security control implementation.
• Develop Security Assessment Plans (SAPs) and support Security Assessment Report (SAR) activities.
• Support cybersecurity architecture, governance initiatives, and supply chain risk management documentation.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance (TS preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, RMF, or information assurance supporting DoD or Federal systems.
• Hands-on experience managing cybersecurity documentation and workflows within eMASS.
• Strong understanding of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5.
• DoD 8140.03M DCWF Basic Tier Certification; CEH required.
• Proven ability to independently author SSPs and manage POA&M remediation.

Nice to have

• One or more DoD 8140.03M DCWF Intermediate Tier certifications (e.g., Security+, Cloud+, PenTest+, GCIH).
• Experience supporting cloud, hybrid-cloud, or modernized DoD environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Prior experience working directly with a Federal agency.
