What you will do

• Directly lead, coach, and develop a team of junior accountants through regular feedback and training.
• Oversee full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of US-based SMB clients.
• Manage month-end and quarterly close processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex accounting issues and client inquiries.
• Review team deliverables to ensure high quality before client delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with US-based clients in an outsourced or service environment.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Proven experience in independent team leadership and people development.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO certification preferred).
• Ability to handle difficult performance conversations directly and promptly.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bill.com, Gusto, Karbon, or similar SMB tools.
• Exposure to nonprofit accounting.
