Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; hybrid with attendance at the Sydney office approximately twice per week. Employees are hired on Sydney-based contracts.

What you will do

• Build and operate the runtime platform supporting feature teams and the next generation banking platform.
• Manage networking across ingress, egress, DMZs, clusters, load balancers, accounts, regions, VPCs, and third-party B2B integrations.
• Maintain security capabilities including OAuth, mTLS, IAM, service mesh, egress filtering, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Operate data and infrastructure services including Aurora PostgreSQL, Kafka, caching, Kubernetes on AWS, and Terraform.
• Develop operational tooling and CI/CD capabilities with Go, Python, Jenkins, and Concourse CI.
• Help deliver tier-one resilience and 99.99% availability for a platform handling the money of millions of people.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to make sound implementation decisions.
• Passion for quality and testing best practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes supporting scalable production systems.
• Good baseline understanding of AI in software development and practical use of AI tools.
• Ability to collaborate, communicate clearly, learn broadly, and work across a wide technology stack.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-region use cases.
• Experience running fully managed Kubernetes clusters in the cloud.
