Business Continuity Officer (f/m/d)

Location: Essen, Germany; hybrid work combining office collaboration with work from home. Workation is available for up to 20 days per year within Europe.

What you will do

• Act as the primary Business Continuity contact for the Business Unit and coordinate group BCM policies and standards.
• Conduct and coordinate Business Impact Analyses with process owners to identify critical processes and dependencies.
• Coordinate internal and external BCM audits, remediate findings, and continuously improve the BCM framework.
• Develop BCM roadmaps, maturity initiatives, emergency and contingency plans, and support crisis management.
• Plan and execute Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery tests across business, IT, OT, and service continuity.
• Deliver BCM awareness and training, report maturity progress, and maintain incident and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience implementing Business Continuity Management programs in matrix or functional organizations.
• Strong understanding of IT/OT service continuity and disaster recovery concepts, including RTO, RPO, and resilience patterns.
• Expert knowledge of ISO 22301 and basic understanding of ISO 27001, ISO 27019, and ISO 27031.
• Relevant BCM or resilience certification, such as CBCI or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
• Understanding of grid and energy systems, IT and OT environments, strong decision-making, communication, influencing, and business skills.
• Fluent English and the local language required; valid Class B driver's license required.
