Sr. Manager, Engineering (Enterprise Platform)

What you will do

• Own day-to-day team operating cadence (planning, prioritization, standups, retrospectives) to keep delivery predictable and surface risks early.
• Partner with Product Management to translate strategy and roadmap into sequenced, well-scoped execution.
• Participate in technical decisions at the architectural level, challenge designs, and guide teams toward scalable solutions.
• Coach and grow engineers; shape the team through hiring and performance management.
• Drive scalability, reliability, and technical-debt reduction; decide where engineering investment should be made.
• Manage risk, dependencies, and cross-team commitments, resolving issues proactively.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Software Engineering Management for backend services exposing APIs.
• 5+ years hands-on experience as a Software Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of scaling SaaS products and agile processes/workflows.
• Architectural-level technical fluency to discuss tradeoffs and challenge technical decisions.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems (load balancing, horizontal scalability, high availability).
• Experience architecting and operating applications in AWS; experience with containerized CI/CD deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).

Hiring process

• Progress checkpoints at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year focused on delivery health, technical decision-making, and measurable improvements.

Location: United States (US Remote)

Salary: $158,900 - $267,860 (USD, base salary range for US-based employees)
