What you will do

• Design the annual internal audit plan aligned with regulatory requirements and operational risks in South Africa.
• Develop and execute audit programmes in accordance with internal policies and IIA standards.
• Utilize data analytics (SQL, Python, R, SAS) to identify risks, test controls, and provide actionable business insights.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and collaborate with the Global Head of Internal Audit.
• Report on deficiencies and provide recommendations for business process optimization and compliance.
• Manage audit projects to completion and assist external auditors during financial statement audits.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in audit within a regulated financial services environment.
• Must be certified by the Institute of Internal Audit South Africa (IIA SA).
• Deep understanding of South African regulatory compliance for EMI and retail banking.
• Experience dealing with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
• Expertise in interpreting data using SQL, SAS, Python, or R.
• Strong knowledge of COSO and IIA Standards.
