EY is looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join its Transformation Realized™ Consulting practice and support clients in designing modern data platforms, building scalable data pipelines, and enabling data-driven decision-making.

The role is suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of experience, including internships and academic projects.

Main responsibilities:
• support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and data architectures;
• work with Databricks and Spark-based solutions;
• collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders;
• assist with data quality, validation, and governance processes;
• contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices;
• document and optimize end-to-end data flows;
• support ETL/ELT development for data ingestion and transformation;
• learn and apply cloud-based data engineering practices;
• help design and roll out data architecture and infrastructure.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field;
• 0–2 years of relevant experience;
• academic or hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or distributed processing frameworks;
• basic understanding of data modeling;
• familiarity with star schemas and fact/dimension tables;
• understanding of data warehousing concepts;
• SQL and relational database exposure;
• familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and tools;
• willingness to learn Azure, AWS, or GCP;
• ability to work with structured and unstructured data;
• strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have:
• Databricks, Delta Lake, notebooks, and workflows;
• Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or ADLS;
• Python or Scala;
• Git;
• CI/CD concepts;
• Airflow or Azure Data Factory pipelines;
• Agile or Lean development methodologies.
