What you will do

• Provide oversight and challenge on Group sponsored Defined Benefit Schemes with assets of approximately £30bn.
• Act as a trusted partner for pension scheme funding, strategy, and risk plans.
• Conduct internal and external pensions stress testing, including work on the PRA ICAAP submission.
• Develop and maintain pension risk appetite, monitor exposures, and analyze trends.
• Contribute to the annual review of market risk policies and review external IAS19 disclosures.
• Represent the team in pensions and broader governance forums to influence outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in defined benefit pension schemes and financial risk management.
• A relevant professional qualification is essential (e.g., qualified actuary FIA/FFA or CFA).
• Confident communication skills to explain technical concepts and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to managing workloads and balancing multiple priorities in a complex environment.
