Database Administrator (MySQL)

Location: Onsite in Tartu or Tallinn, Estonia

What you will do

• Manage daily operations of the global database platform, from initial setup to tools development.
• Administer high-volume databases within a complex, distributed environment.
• Plan and execute all aspects of database administration to ensure maximum stability and availability.
• Install and upgrade databases and high-availability (HA) solutions.
• Develop automation, monitoring, and other internal tooling.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support database-related production incidents.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on experience with MySQL database administration.
• Strong understanding of general IT concepts, specifically networks and Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Basic to intermediate scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages to support automation.
• Proactive mindset and the ability to handle moderately complex technical challenges.
• Collaborative approach and motivation to continuously expand technical expertise.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with AWS database services.
• Exposure to running databases on Kubernetes, especially using MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL operators.
