What you will do

• Lead the "On the Day" editorial stream, overseeing 24/7 breaking and daily news output.
• Ensure all content across digital, visualised radio, and TV meets hirify.global's accuracy and editorial standards.
• Champion a digital-first approach, ensuring stories are produced for multi-platform distribution.
• Develop visualised audio output from the Nairobi studio, including YouTube live streaming and social media assets.
• Collaborate with the "On Demand" Assistant Editor to maintain editorial coherence across the service.
• Coach and develop a diverse team, fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Requirements

• Significant editorial leadership experience in digital or broadcast news.
• Proven track record of commissioning and delivering content for digital, social media, TV, and radio simultaneously.
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to manage compliance and risk in complex political environments.
• Proficiency in using audience analytics tools to inform editorial decision-making.
• Fluency in written and spoken Swahili and English.
• Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Nice to have

• Ability to shoot, script, and edit video stories using tools like Final Cut Pro (FCPx) and QEdit.
• Experience optimizing content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
