What you will do

• Annotate medical records to create high-quality AI training data.
• Validate annotated datasets to ensure clinical accuracy and consistency.
• Refine clinical logic, prompts, and coding rules used by AI models.
• Provide subject-matter expertise in clinical coding and HIM to data science teams.
• Review AI model outputs against clinical documentation to identify and categorize errors.
• Document clinical rationale for labeling decisions to support QA and audit processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical coding and/or CDI.
• Active credential in CCS, CPC, CRC, CDIP, CCDS, or equivalent AHIMA/AAPC certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ICD-10-CM code assignment from clinical documentation.
• Ability to apply clinical coding standards independently and consistently.
• Strong written communication skills to articulate clinical rationale for labeling decisions.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Experience with coding audits or compliance.
• Clinical annotation or AI/ML data labeling experience in health-tech.
• Familiarity with HCC reimbursement models.
• Exposure to NLP or ML model outputs in a clinical context.
