What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate the root cause and extent of failures in HVAC, MEP, and building management systems (BMS/BAS).
• Assess mechanical failures across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Perform fieldwork, including inspections in confined spaces and working at heights.
• Write effective, clear, and defensible technical reports based on investigation findings.
• Provide expert witness testimony and technical consulting for high-stakes problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of experts to solve complex engineering issues.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida or eligible by reciprocity.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
• 5-10 years of experience designing or working with mechanical equipment and HVAC/MEP systems.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane.

Nice to have

• Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional active P.E. licensures in states surrounding Florida.
• CFI (IAAI) and/or CFEI (NAFI) certifications.
• Previous experience serving as an expert witness.
