DevOps and DBA Engineer - Assistant Vice President (Azure/SQL Server): Leading the strategy and execution of DevOps practices and database operations for enterprise SaaS solutions with an accent on CI/CD automation and SQL Server reliability. Location: Must be based in Salt Lake City, Utah (Hybrid: Mon-Thu onsite, Fri remote)
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000

What you will do
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators, including hiring and mentoring.
- Own the design and reliability of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Manage SQL Server database operations, focusing on performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR (Always On).
- Embed DevSecOps practices, secrets management, and ensure compliance with SOC 2 frameworks.
- Manage cloud spend and FinOps practices within Azure to optimize workloads and costs.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Product teams to plan releases and platform improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering supporting PaaS/SaaS.
- 2+ years of people management experience leading technical teams.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Entra ID, Azure SQL).
- Strong SQL Server administration skills, including replication and backup/recovery.
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications: Azure Solutions Architect or Azure DevOps Engineer.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Azure SQL Managed Instance migrations.
- Experience integrating ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
