Field Technician (Defence)

TL;DR

Field Technician (Defence/IT): Establishing and maintaining communications networks for large-scale DFWES exercises with an accent on network deployment, microwave links, and on-site technical support. Focus on erecting communications infrastructure, providing technical advice to EXCON teams, and maintaining system stability in austere conditions.

Location: United Kingdom. Must have a valid UK driving licence and passport; ability to travel worldwide is required.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain communications networks, including erecting and aligning masts, microwave links, and GPS.
• Provide on-site technical support and advice to the hirify.global Exercise Control (EXCON) team.
• Set up Observer Controller tablets and remote terminals and provide instruction on their use.
• Support MOUT/Urban Enhancement equipment modelling, setup, and through-exercise operations.
• Assist in the deployment, construction, and testing of communication networks across all exercise phases.
• Produce technical and communications data for post-exercise reports (PXR).

Requirements

• Valid UK Driving Licence B+E or equivalent.
• Valid UK Passport and ability to travel worldwide.
• CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
• 1-3+ years of IT experience.
• Ability to complete a CONDO medical.
• Must be able to live and work in austere conditions when required.
