TL;DR
Fullstack Engineer (React/Rails): Developing modern web experiences and services for global educators and learners with an accent on accessible UIs and performant APIs. Focus on building production features using Rails and React, optimizing Postgres queries, and implementing serverless patterns on AWS.
Location: Hybrid in Budapest, Hungary (Onsite required Tuesday and Wednesday)
Salary: HUF 900K – 1.2M per month

What you will do
- Design and build production features using Rails, TypeScript, and React.
- Develop serverless and edge APIs/jobs on AWS, utilizing Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and EventBridge.
- Model data and ship performant Postgres queries, including migrations and indexing.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG) and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and e2e testing.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to contribute to the technical direction.
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails (RESTful APIs, ActiveRecord, and background processing).
- Knowledge of AWS for serverless and edge patterns.
- Strong SQL skills for schema design and query tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Docker.
Nice to have
- Experience with EdTech standards (LTI 1.3, OneRoster, FERPA/COPPA compliance).
- Exposure to modern frontend tools like Zustand, React Query, or Biome linter.
- Security mindset regarding OAuth/SAML, SSO, PII handling, and GDPR.
- Experience with analytics, feature flags, and performance tuning at scale.
