Staff Data Platform Engineer, Knowledge Platform (AI)

What you will do

• Define the strategy, architecture, development, and operation of data and AI platforms.
• Identify and resolve company-wide challenges using advanced data platform solutions.
• Provide technical direction and lead hands-on resolution of complex data platform problems.
• Develop infrastructure supporting the data and AI/ML lifecycle, including data serving, governance, and model hosting.
• Mentor data platform engineers and promote technical excellence, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in data platforms or an equivalent combination of professional and academic experience in a quantitative field.
• Experience leading company-wide initiatives across multiple teams and influencing technical roadmaps.
• Technical leadership experience with ETL frameworks, metrics stores, infrastructure management, and data security.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining reliable multi-geographical data pipelines at scale.
• Familiarity with workflow or orchestration frameworks such as Airflow and dbt.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, balance execution with research and statistical understanding, and mentor engineers and scientists.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience designing data processing patterns for modern lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, Dataproc, Kafka, Kubernetes, Spark, Dataflow, Google Cloud Storage, and Airflow.
• Experience developing high-performance services, standard framework modules, or client libraries for big data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for leadership, users, and company-wide audiences.
• Experience evaluating technologies, conducting proofs of concept, and working in complex environments.
