Lead Data Infrastructure Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate batch and streaming pipelines for robot telemetry, sensor recordings, autonomy events, and operational and delivery data.
• Implement data quality, validation, schema enforcement, completeness and freshness checks, anomaly detection, alerting, and pipeline observability.
• Build dashboards and curated self-serve datasets for engineering, data science, and fleet operations.
• Integrate robotics data and ML workloads with hirify.global's central lakehouse, orchestration, feature, and model platforms.
• Design storage, indexing, retention, partitioning, storage tiering, and compute strategies for high-volume sensor and multimedia data while controlling costs.
• Partner with autonomy, perception, ML, backend, and operations teams to define metrics and reproducible, versioned training and evaluation datasets; own governance, access, compliance, documentation, and on-call reliability.

Requirements

• Strong Python and SQL skills, including production-grade data services.
• Hands-on experience building and operating batch and streaming pipelines using Spark, Flink, Kafka, or equivalent technologies.
• Production-scale workflow orchestration experience with Airflow, Dagster, Argo Workflows, or similar.
• Experience with data warehouses and lakehouses, including Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi, partitioning strategies, and query engines such as Presto/Trino, Spark SQL, or BigQuery.
• Demonstrated ownership of data quality through validation frameworks, data contracts, tests, and data-level alerting.
• Experience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Superset, Tableau, or similar.
• Cloud engineering experience on Alibaba Cloud and/or AWS, including object storage at scale, with Terraform as the primary IaC tool.
• Experience using Docker and Kubernetes to build and run data workloads, plus the ability to make storage, egress, and compute cost trade-offs.
• Strong ownership, clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, pragmatic prioritization, experience improving existing systems, and willingness to participate in on-call support.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics or vehicle data, including ROS 2 bags, MCAP, time-series sensor data, or geospatial data.
• Familiarity with Foxglove or similar robotics data visualization tools.
• ML platform experience with feature stores, training pipelines, experiment tracking, or model registries such as Kubeflow or MLflow.
• Experience indexing and retrieving large-scale camera or lidar multimedia data.
• Exposure to simulation-generated datasets using CARLA or NVIDIA Isaac Sim.
• Experience operating data infrastructure across multiple regions, including cross-border data constraints.
• Experience working across APAC sites or with distributed, cross-border teams.
