What you will do

• Design, build, and own backend services for FX pricing, execution, and risk management.
• Evolve FX platform architecture using microservices, event-driven workflows, Kafka, and gRPC.
• Implement and maintain robust controls for pricing, limits, risk, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• Handle the end-to-end feature lifecycle from requirements and solution design to deployment and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Product, Treasury, and Risk teams to design observable and backward-compatible APIs.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the FX platform remains highly available and reliable.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in JVM languages such as Kotlin or Java.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including concurrency and data consistency.
• Experience with REST/gRPC APIs and persistence layers using PostgreSQL or key-value stores.
• Proficiency with event-driven architectures and message brokers like Kafka.
• Must be based in Melbourne.
