Azure Cloud Engineer (DevOps)

TL;DR

Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure/Terraform): Designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud solutions for federal IT environments with an accent on Azure infrastructure automation and security. Focus on developing Terraform IaC templates, optimizing AVD environments, and ensuring compliance with NIST and FedRAMP standards.

Location: Hybrid, Must be based in Washington, DC (4 days on-site, 1 day telework)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including VMs, VNets, Storage, and PaaS services.
• Develop and maintain Terraform templates as the primary Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool.
• Deploy and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools and FSLogix profile containers.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines within GitLab.
• Implement secure cloud practices aligned with federal requirements such as RBAC, Key Vault, and IAM.
• Ensure system compliance with NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP controls using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance (or higher) are required.
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD or other federal agency cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Knowledge of Azure serverless tools like Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Grid.
• Experience with FinOps and Azure Cost Management.
