What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, presenting and defending technical designs and decisions.
• Develop a transaction engine focused on scalability, financial accuracy, and adaptability.
• Build and maintain a distributed multi-currency wallet platform for precise client ledger oversight.
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Improve engineering productivity with tools/processes and explore AI opportunities, including system observability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, focused on availability & consistency challenges in mission-critical distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring developers.
• Hands-on backend development experience and strong foundation in distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts (ledger, financial transactions) and experience in a financial domain.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Cloud experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience developing automated tests and quality control processes.
• Experience integrating observability tooling such as Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
