What you will do

• Supervise daily operations of the CDI team, managing both onsite and remote staff.
• Monitor quality and productivity, coordinating performance improvement initiatives.
• Train and educate Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS) on 3M software and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, coding, quality, and denials teams to ensure accurate medical records.
• Manage scheduling, staffing assignments, and performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, ICD-10 systems, and DRG reimbursement guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in HIM, Nursing, or a related healthcare field.
• Must possess a valid license or certification (RN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, PA, NP, or MD).
• Minimum 5 years of hospital CDI program experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations and DRG reimbursement.
• Expertise with 3M CDI Software; Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with significant computer usage.

Nice to have

• CCDS or CDIP certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR.
