Network and Security Engineer (Cisco/Fortinet/Palo Alto)

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network and Security Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and protect our enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge the gap between core networking and robust cybersecurity, ensuring our infrastructure is high-performing, scalable, and resilient against evolving security threats. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multi-vendor environments, advanced routing protocols, and modern security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Architecture & Implementation
Design, deploy, and manage end-to-end enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Data Center networks.
Configure and maintain high-performance routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, Link Aggregation).
Optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability by implementing High Availability (HA) topologies and traffic engineering.
Lead or support network migration, virtualization, and expansion projects.
2. Network Security & Perimeter Defense
Deploy, configure, and manage Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) and unified threat management solutions across multi-vendor platforms (e.g., Fortinet, Huawei, Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco).
Implement and maintain secure access controls, including Site-to-Site VPNs, Remote Access VPNs, and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
Manage Network Access Control (NAC) systems, IDS/IPS, and web/email security gateways.
Regularly review, audit, and harden firewall policies and access control lists (ACLs).
3. Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Vulnerability Management
Utilize enterprise monitoring tools to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network and security incidents.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using industry-standard tools and execute remediation plans.
Participate in incident response activities, conducting root-cause analysis for network outages or security breaches.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of network topology, security policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Skills and Qualifications
Required Technical Skills:
Networking: Deep knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP stack, subnetting, and advanced routing/switching.
Firewalls & Security: Hands-on experience with NGFWs (FortiGate, Check Point, or Palo Alto), including stateful inspection, SSL inspection, and application control.
Infrastructure: Experience with SD-WAN deployments, MPLS, and Data Center switching architectures.
Tools: Familiarity with network analysis tools and vulnerability scanners.
Soft Skills & Core Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong time-management skills to handle project delivery alongside day-to-day operational support.
Education & Certifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Certifications (One or more is highly desirable):
Cisco: CCNA / CCNP (Enterprise or Security)
Fortinet: NSE 4 – NSE 7
Check Point: CCSA / CCSE
Palo Alto: PCNSA / PCNSE
General Security: CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP
