TL;DR

Information Security Student (Cybersecurity): Assisting in securing cloud environments and managing vulnerabilities with an accent on cloud security posture management and vulnerability scanning. Focus on analyzing security findings, coordinating remediation efforts, and strengthening the overall security posture of cloud infrastructure.

Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days a week in office) in St. John’s, NL or Toronto, ONT

What you will do

• Learn and utilize vulnerability scanning and cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools.
• Analyze and prioritize security vulnerabilities within cloud infrastructure.
• Coordinate remediation efforts for identified security findings.
• Collaborate with security and operational teams to maintain security standards.
• Assess and improve existing security processes and tool usage.
• Develop technical and professional skills through mentorship and training.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and continuing enrollment in a diploma or degree program in Security Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must include a copy of most recent transcript when uploading a resume.
• Strong analytical skills and curiosity regarding technology security.
• Ability to communicate effectively across different teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning of security best practices.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, container security tools, or monitoring platforms.
• Practical experience with Linux, Python, Terraform, and AWS.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, GSEC, AWS SSA, or equivalent.
• Prior internship or project experience in cybersecurity or cloud infrastructure.
