Data Engineer

Data Engineer (Data Platform): Building and maintaining large-scale data infrastructure for analytics, machine learning, and real-time recommendations with an accent on data pipeline design, storage optimization, and system reliability. Location: Must be based in or able to work from Limassol, Cyprus (Hybrid)

Salary: From 50,000 EUR gross per year

What you will do

• Design and maintain a unified system for data processing, storage, and validation to ensure data integrity.
• Build end-to-end data pipelines from capture to consumer presentation.
• Develop and maintain big data infrastructure using Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Create and optimize high-load data access services using REST and gRPC APIs.
• Write integration and unit tests while developing automation tools for data validation.
• Contribute to system design and architecture within the Data Platform team.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Limassol, Cyprus
• Advanced proficiency in Python 3.7+ and PySpark for ETL development.
• Proven experience with Airflow 2 and Kubernetes (K8S).
• Expertise in SQL, including complex query optimization.
• Strong understanding of data processing algorithms (Spark/Flink) and software architecture principles.
• Ability to take ownership of services and proactively contribute to team goals.
