What you will do

• Take a user problem from rough idea to shipped interface: write the brief, design the flow, prototype, and ship with minimal handoffs.
• Plan and own design activities within the mission team, aligning with timelines and quarterly OKRs; translate business goals, technical constraints, and data into measurable design solutions.
• Pressure-test ideas with the UK design community and deliver designs directly when needed to keep the team moving.
• Use AI tools (including Claude Code), Figma, and code to explore, prototype, and accelerate—while ensuring AI-generated UI is correct and high-quality.
• Deploy rapid, experience-driven experiments into production to validate customer demand and inform whether additional engineering resources are justified.
• Extend and evolve the design system when new interaction patterns are required, contributing back when patterns generalize.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a product design role, ideally within a product organization, with a track record of shipping interfaces used by real customers.
• Strong visual sensibility and high craft standards with an eye for detail; ability to explain and connect design decisions to outcomes.
• Experience building and using personal AI workflows; ability to know when to trust, edit, or reject AI output.
• Ability to solve from first principles (start from the user and work forward), not from the component library.
• Experience with user research and usability testing, plus strong communication and storytelling skills.
• Native-level English strongly preferred.
